New Stained Glass Window
Did you notice the new stained glass window in the church? Last week the final window outside the daily chapel was installed - St. Marcellin Champagnat, founder of the Marist Brothers. You can learn more about him here . The window was donated by a long-time member of the OLA family in memory of his late wife. Thank you to everyone who participated in the 24 Hours for the Lord ! Almost every hour had at least 5 guardians to sit with Jesus. In a few months we will be holding

Wondering Why the Statues in the Church are Veiled?
If you were/are at OLA this weekend you'll notice that the crosses, statues, and holy images (except Stations of the Cross and stained glass windows) are covered with purple cloth. (Unfortunately, these images came out looking blue!) The final period of immediate preparation for celebrating the Easter mysteries is traditionally called Passiontide. During these last two weeks of Lent, the prayers, antiphons, and liturgy readings speak more explicitly of Our Lord’s Passion and

St. Joseph’s Table and Food Drive
The tradition of St. Joseph’s Tables in Catholic churches began in Sicily during middle ages in a time of famine. Legend tells us that during a severe drought the people of Sicily prayed to St. Joseph for relief. Relief came through desperately needed rain! In gratitude after an abundant harvest, the people prepared tables of food to honor St. Joseph and to share with the poor. The One OLA ministry created the beautiful St. Joseph’s Tabel altar that will remain in the narth

Ramadan Iftar Dinner at OLA
March 11, 2026 Dear OLA Family, On March 5th, our Indonesian Community, along with the Atlantic Institute, hosted a Ramadan Iftar dinner with our Muslim sisters and brothers from around the Atlanta area. Ramadan is the holiest month in the religion of Islam - a time when Muslims fast each day from dawn until sunset, refraining from food and drink while focusing on prayer, charity, and spiritual growth. For Catholics, it can be understood as somewhat similar in spirit to Lent

Parish Pastoral Council Elections
Dear OLA Parish Family, One of the developments in parish life after the Second Vatican Council (1962-1965) was the promotion of pastoral councils, that is, bodies of parishioners and certain members of the pastoral staff that assist the pastor in fostering the pastoral activity of the parish. While not mandated by Canon Law, pastoral councils have long been employed by OLA’s pastors. I am happy to continue that tradition, recognizing it as a valuable source of assistance i

New Bells at Mass
Dear OLA Family. Have you noticed the three small bells with a yellow rope mounted on the wall at the entrance to the baptistry? We've been using these bells now for about a month to signal the start of our 7:30am weekday masses. As we begin the Lenten season, we will begin to do the same for our Sunday celebrations of mass. So how will this work? Approximately five minutes prior to the start of mass, the lector or cantor will approach the ambo and introduce the mass in the

2026 Archbishop’s Annual: Answering the Call. Supporting the Church’s Mission
Each year, the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal invites us to come together as one Church to support the vital ministries of the Archdiocese of Atlanta. Through this appeal, we are able to extend Christ’s love far beyond what any single parish could do alone - and to assist parishes without the financial means needed to fully serve their people. A special focus of the Appeal is supporting our priests through continuing education, retirement, and other support. Our generosity helps

Please read Fr. Dan's letter below and downolad the prayer card to help you on your journey. St. Teresa of Avila described prayer as "taking time frequently to be alone with him who we know loves us." As we prepare to begin a new liturgical year with the start of Advent, I invite you to make
