Packages of Warmth for the Homeless
Time & Location
About the Event
Saturday, October 17 from 3 to 6pm
Sunday October 18 from 9am to 1pm
OLA is excited to team up with Mercy Care again this year to provide warmth to the homeless! Instead of our usual coat drive, we are participating in an initiative that Mercy Care calls the “Packages of Warmth” Drive, which will take place on October 17 and 18 as a drive-thru event.
Mercy Care has asked that we primarily collect the following:
- Winter Caps,
- Winter Gloves,
- Winter Scarves,
- Blankets (NEW!),
- Socks (NEW!),
- Large-sized Women’s Coats (L-5XL),
- Large-sized Men’s Coats (L-5XL), and
- Children’s Coats.
The Packages of Warmth Drive will take place from 3pm to 6pm on Saturday, October 17; and 9am to 1pm on Sunday, October 18. During this time, our Youth Ministry will be waiting by the OLA School Main Entrance to collect any of the previously mentioned items that you are able to bring. Since this is a drive-thru event, our teens will unload your car for you in order to keep things moving in an orderly fashion.
(Please do not bring items that are not listed above. Also, please do not drop items off at the parish office - or the school.)
