Father Greg Boyle, SJ Virtual Meeting
Time & Location
About the Event
Fr. Greg is the founder of Homeboy Industries and the author of the New York Times bestselling books “Tattoos on the Heart: The Power of Boundless Compassion,” and “Barking to the Choir: The Power of Radical Kinship.”
In 1986, When Fr. Greg became pastor of Dolores Mission Church, it was the poorest Catholic parish in Los Angeles. The parish included two of the largest public housing projects west of the Mississippi which had the highest concentration of gang activity in LA. Father Greg saw people in need of help and in 1988 Homeboy Industries was born.
Today, Homeboy Industries is the largest gang intervention, rehabilitation and re-entry program in the world, welcoming thousands each year.
Fr. Greg will speak about how Homeboy Industries provides hope and job training for formerly gang involved and previously incarcerated men and women. You will hear inspiring stories of how these men and women have redirected their lives to become contributing members of society.
