Worship Ministries

Adoration - Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament takes place each Wednesday in the Daily Chapel of the main church starting at 8:00 a.m. and continuing all day. Holy Hour takes place from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.   No sign up time required.

Altar Linens – Members launder and iron the linens used in the celebration of the  Eucharist. Each member is assigned one week 4 times per year.

Altar Servers – These young ministers (boys & girls) are trained to assist the  clergy in the celebration of the Eucharist for school Masses, weekend liturgies, funeral and nuptials.

Annual Communal Penance Service is held on a Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. during Advent and Lent. To participate in the  readings.

Choir & Musicians – All are invited to join this    vibrant ministry.  Adult, Community, Cherubs, Youth and Teen Choirs, as well as Women’s Schola. There are weekly rehearsals and special seasonal rehearsals.

Extraordinary
Ministers of Eucharist – They are trained and commissioned and serve at weekend and daily liturgies. Additional training will allow you to minister to the homebound, care  centers and hospitals (See Ministers of Care)

Funeral Coordinator Assistants –      Duties include helping families plan the  funeral service and being a liason at the funeral.  Contact: Margie Patterson mpatterson@bellsouth.net  Currently Seeking  Volunteers

Greeters - This instrumental Ministry is often the frontline to OLA visitors.  This dynamic group of people gather before the liturgy in the Narthex to greet all parishioners and Newcomers as they enter the church.  The team is scheduled around their preferred Mass times.  CURRENTLY SEEKING VOLUNTEERS.

Liturgy of the Word for Children – Each Sunday during the 9:00 am Liturgy, children celebrate the “Good News” in their own style then they return to Mass.   CURRENTLY SEEKING VOLUNTEERS. Contact: Denise Banna

Martha’s – Caretakers of the church,    narthex, chapel and confessional meet every other week to dust, polish and clean glass.  These groups of men and women (Latino and Anglo) meet around several rotating schedules in fellowship, prayer and community Contact: Lori Howard (Anglo)   or

Ministry of Care – Parishioners bring the word of God and the Eucharist on a weekly basis to the sick, elderly in   hospitals or care centers or those homebound.  Training is required in addition to being a trained Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist.

Readers – proclaim the Liturgy of the Word once a month based on availability.

Sacristans – takecare of the  sacristy, and assists the clergy in preparation before and after daily and weekend liturgies.

Ushers – Duties require greeting and providing assistance to those who enter the church and need  seating.  They take up the offertory collection, hand out bulletins and straighten up the church pews and Narthex after Mass. Contact: Peter  Rolfes prolfes4851@hotmail.com

Wedding Guild – If you have a flair for coordinating preparations, the  rehearsal, and the big day, this is the guild to join. No previous experience necessary. Time   commitment is shared with other coordinators.
