Dear Parish Family,

As I am sure you have heard in the news, a 7.5-magnitude earthquake struck just off the central island of Sulawesi, Indonesia last Friday. As I write this, the death toll from that resulting tsunami has reached over 1300 souls.

This devastating news hits particularly close to home for us at OLA as we are blessed to have a vibrant, faith-filled Indonesian community as part of our parish family.

In order to show our support for our local Indonesian friends – and to offer relief to the untold number who have been affected by the tsunami – we will be having a Second Collection after all Masses the weekend of October 27 and 28.

All monies collected will be donated to Catholic Relief Services toward their Indonesian Relief Efforts. You may also donate online through Friday, October 26 by clicking here. (Be sure to scroll down to the 5th item and choose the Catholic Relief Services – Assistance to Indonesia option.)

Thank you in advance for your financial support of our Indonesian brothers and sisters. I ask that you also remember them – and all relief workers – in your prayers.

Yours in Mary, Our Mother,
Father Jim
