Grace Scholarship Program

YOUR TAX DOLLARS CAN HELP A CHILD ATTEND OLA SCHOOL

The mission of GRACE  is to provide children from families with financial need with greater opportunities to secure a quality Catholic education at Our Lady of the Assumption School, while providing donors with an opportunity to use their tax dollars towards Catholic school scholarships.

In a nutshell, this program is a "NO CASH GIFT."  It essentially costs you nothing to participate since you will receive a dollar-for-dollar tax credit against your Georgia State income taxes.
Additionally, your gift to GRACE also qualifies as a charitable tax deduction on your federal income tax forms. However, let me assure you that the financial benefit YOU receive is secondary to the huge impact that your redirected tax dollars make on the children who receive GRACE scholarships!

It is important not to lose sight of the real mission of GRACE Scholars.

Act now. Share GRACE so others can receive GRACE!

Timing is critical. Almost half of the $50 million that the state of Georgia has allotted for student scholarship organizations is already gone. It is estimated that by November 1 the entire $50 million will already be disbursed.

NEW for 2012 (Online TP1 Form)
The Dept. of Revenue has rolled out its online system for approving education tax credits. Here is a tutorial from the department with additional information added by GRACE. The system is available at the Georgia Tax Center website. Taxpayers must request online access to their tax accounts at GTC. (If the taxpayer has never filed a tax return, he or she must register first.) Taxpayers will still need to complete, scan, and upload form TP1 as part of the online approval process. I tried the system, and it worked for me. Still, the best place to get answers to questions about the process is to contact the DOR Tax Credits and & Incentives Unit at 1-877-423-6711. Ask for help with "Qualified Education Expense Tax Credit applications."

If you have any questions about the GRACE process or the attachments, please contact Sharon Black in the Development Office (404-364-1902, ex. 252) or the GRACE Scholars office (404-920-7903, David Brown, Director).

"A Marist Ministry. I pray that your presence here will be long and happy. I also pray that your spiritual life will continue to grow as you come to know yourself in worship, education and service." -Reverend Jim Duffy S.M.
