Dear New Parishioner
Welcome to Our Lady of the Assumption community! A Marist Ministry. I pray that your presence here will be long and happy. I also pray that your spiritual life will continue to grow as you come to know yourself in worship, education and service. Our theme is “All Are Welcome” and this year, we have expanded our focus to include, “Come to the Table”. “Welcome and break bread with us” is center to who and what we are at OLA. We are friendly, and we are a Eucharistic Community that defines itself in Eucharist, thanksgiving.
We are grateful to God for all the blessings God has bestowed on us and, how we, through Eucharist go forth to serve – putting into practice “Thanksgiving”. Worship and service go hand in hand but we also need education so we may continue to grow and develop.
Fr. Jim Duffy, S.M.
WHAT IT MEANS TO BE AN ACTIVE CATHOLIC AT OLA:
For Parish verification, required for Baptisms, Marriages, Catholic School admittance, etc. a person is to be registered in the parish, attend Mass regularly and be involved in Time, Talent and Stewardship. Participation through offertory envelopes is one means of verification. If you choose not to use envelopes or are unable to contribute at this time, please make a notation of your prayerful support on your envelope and place it in the weekly offertory. We will then be aware of your continued participation.
Please explore our Ministry Directory (See Steward & Ministry in the Upper Navigation Bar.) for current information on the many exciting ways you can become involved at OLA and give of your TIME and TALENT. You may also download our OLA Ministry Guide 2016-2017.
